Outdoor Market Alliance donates more than $110K over six years to outdoor-focused non-profits
The most recent grants from Denver outdoor industry hub go to Durango Trails, Special Ops Adventure Foundation, Front Range Powder Factory.
LAKEWOOD, Colo. (July 29, 2026) /OUTDOOR SPORTSWIRE/ — Outdoor Market Alliance (OMA), the Denver-based home of 25 independent outdoor industry sales rep agencies that serve the Rockies and a regional hub for outdoor industry events, this month awarded $35,000 in grants to three outdoor-focused nonprofits. The grants are part of Outdoor Market Alliance’s ongoing mission to support charitable causes in the outdoor industry.
Specific grants made by Outdoor Market Alliance this month include:
$20,000 to Durango Trails, a nonprofit in Durango, Colo., that plans, builds and maintains trails (300-plus miles built to date) as the gateway connecting people to the outdoors and to each other.
$10,000 to the Special Operations Adventure Foundation, a nonprofit that runs guided adventure retreats and expeditions for Special Operations veterans focused on teamwork, purpose and camaraderie.
$5,000 to the Front Range Powder Factory, a nonprofit focused on suicide awareness and prevention and mental health advocacy.
Since OMA was founded in its 32,000-square-foot site just west of downtown Denver in 2022, the organization has given $110,000 to nonprofits through grants made on an annual basis. Past grantees have included Outdoor Lab Foundation, Protect our Rivers, Save A Brain, Women’s Wilderness, She Jumps and the Continental Divide Trail Coalition.
“Outdoor Market Alliance was established to serve as a marketplace for outdoor retail and to provide a regional hub for meetings and events in the outdoor industry. And, finding ways to give back to our community was a core priority from the beginning,” said Steve Copeland, President of Outdoor Market Alliance and principal of Granite Marketing, one of the sales agencies located in OMA. “In order to do that, we set up our charter to help financially support outdoor nonprofits who are doing great work. And we’re thrilled to be delivering on that goal.”
Nonprofits that receive funding are nominated by OMA members as well as regional retailers who work with OMA sales agencies. The organization takes nominations in April and May each year. OMA members vote in June on which causes to support.
Outdoor Market Alliance hosts a series of sales events, called OMA Market Weeks, each spring and fall, offering a more curated brand experience as well as the opportunity for retailers to visit with nearly 200 outdoor and active-lifestyle brands in one location. Market Weeks are focused around seasonal line showings ahead of ordering deadlines. The space also hosts retailer training events throughout the year.
In addition, OMA hosts other outdoor industry events twice each year, including the OMA Media Show, which was created in 2022 to offer outdoor journalists the opportunity to meet with brands and learn about current and new product offerings. During its ninth successive event that took place July 15-16, the OMA Media Show drew its largest participation yet from brands with 64 participating product manufacturers and more than 1,500 individual meetings between brands and journalists over two days.
